About The Connective
What makes The Connective different from other networking groups?
Traditional networking groups rely on outdated playbooks—paper referral slips, mandatory 7:00 AM attendance, awkward 30-second elevator pitches, lost email threads, and the best members often burn out.
The Connective is built for modern dealmakers, founders, and executives. We combine high-trust, curated rooms with purpose-built technology through Nolodex, tracking every introduction from initial handshake to closed deal. Most importantly, we operate on a simple principle: Connectors Get Paid®. With our community of vetted members spread across multiple divisions, we ensure your relationships are recognized and rewarded.
What’s the difference between Local, B2B, and Mid-Market & Enterprise (MM&E)?
Each community is tailored to the scale and sales motion of how you do business:
- The Connective B2B: A nationwide virtual community for entrepreneurs, founders, and professionals whose business development focuses primarily on small-to-mid-market clients.
- The Connective MM&E: A curated virtual room for senior executives, corporate advisors, and consultants closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals in the middle-market and enterprise spaces.
- The Connective Local: A hybrid community designed for professionals building business in a specific geographic market. Local chapters feature profession-specific seat exclusivity, pairing online collaboration with in-person connection.
Who are the typical members of The Connective?
The specific profile varies by community to match how members do business:
- The Connective B2B: Founders, agency heads, fractional executives, and B2B advisors serving small-to-mid-market companies across North America.
- The Connective MM&E: Senior corporate advisors, M&A consultants, investment professionals, and enterprise leaders handling complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
- The Connective Local: Business owners, local service professionals, and entrepreneurs focused on growing relationships within their local geographic market.
While their industries, client profiles, and average deal sizes differ, members across all three communities share essential traits in common: they genuinely value relationship-driven networking, actively want to meet and support their fellow members, and have a proven track record and natural habit of sending warm, high-integrity introductions. That shared standard is why The Connective maintains a higher than average member renewal rate.
Does The Connective offer virtual or in-person networking?
Both!
The Connective B2B and MM&E are 100% virtual for meeting, allowing you to build trusted, cross-regional relationships with vetted professionals across North America. We do have in person events in concentrated areas.
Connective Local is hybrid—members meet twice a month virtually for structured chapter meetings and gather once a month for a curated in-person networking event in their local market.
Can I network with members outside my chapter?
Yes, depending on your community:
- B2B & MM&E: All members can freely interact, build relationships, and collaborate with members from any other chapter across that community nationwide.
- Local: Members can network with fellow Local members within their chapter and within a defined regional radius of their home chapter.
Referrals & Nolodex
How do I earn money by referring business to other members?
Under our Connectors Get Paid® model, introductions are tracked in Nolodex. When you introduce a client, prospect, or partner to a fellow member through Nolodex, the opportunity is logged and tracked as it moves through the pipeline. When the business closes, your referral fee is paid out according to the agreed terms. You can also earn money referring new members to the community.
Is everyone required to pay referral fees?
Referral compensation is a core pillar of The Connective. Members are expected to compensate fellow connectors on qualifying closed business resulting from accepted Nolodex referrals, unless specific industry regulations or legal restrictions apply (such as certain bar rules for attorneys or compliance guidelines for licensed financial advisors). In those instances, members participate through reciprocal deal flow and trusted introductions without payment requirements.
What are the referral fee requirements?
All Nolodex users agree to a comprehensive referral agreement outlining the terms and obligations of referral compensation. Each member sets their own referral fees, which are displayed on their profile so everyone knows what to expect upfront. Fees can also be adjusted on a deal-by-deal basis when agreed upon by both parties. Clear communication and transparency are key to ensuring everyone is on the same page.
What is Nolodex, and how does it work with The Connective?
Nolodex is the proprietary relationship intelligence and deal tracking platform that powers The Connective. Rather than letting introductions get buried in email threads or forgotten on spreadsheets, Nolodex provides end-to-end visibility: logging introductions, updating deal milestones, protecting relationship attribution, and managing referral payouts—all in one secure dashboard.
Membership & Pricing
What benefits are included with my Connective membership?
Every Connective membership includes structured networking, access to Nolodex, referral opportunities, and valuable member perks such as free Posting Parties, access to health insurance options, and travel and coworking discounts. Depending on your community, you may also receive additional networking opportunities and Network Intelligence tools.
How much does it cost to join The Connective?
Pricing is transparent with both monthly and discounted annual options:
- Local: $60/month or $600/year (saves $120)
- B2B: $125/month or $1,250/year (saves $250)

Can I belong to more than one chapter or community?
Yes. Members can hold seats in more than one chapter or community provided they meet the specific qualifications and criteria for each group. Many members belong to a Local chapter for regional ties and a B2B or MM&E chapter for national deal flow.
Can I attend a meeting before becoming a member?
Yes. Prospective members can attend an introductory information session followed by visiting a chapter meeting as a guest to experience the room and meeting culture firsthand. You can speak with a chapter leader or start by talking with Avery on our Find Your Fit page.
What is the application, vetting, and onboarding process?
Every prospective member goes through a review process before joining, with vetting tailored to the specific community:
- Seat Availability & Category Check: Chapters maintain category balance and seat exclusivity to ensure high-value collaboration without direct internal competition. Acceptance depends first on whether your industry seat is open in your target chapter.
- Community-Specific Vetting — Local: Applicants are reviewed for an active, reputable local or regional business, commitment to the hybrid meeting rhythm, and a demonstrated desire to support fellow members. B2B: Applicants undergo a review of their professional track record, service offerings, client profile, and natural habit of sending warm, high-integrity introductions. MM&E (Highest Vetting): MM&E is invitation-only and subjects candidates to our most rigorous vetting process. Acceptance requires a confidential evaluation of deal volume, transaction caliber, executive standing, and peer sponsorship.
- Onboarding & Launch: Once approved, new members are welcomed with full access to Nolodex for deal and referral tracking, introduced to their chapter leadership, and integrated into scheduled introductions so they can start building relationships immediately.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Unlike many networking organizations, The Connective offers monthly membership options without requiring you to pay for an entire year upfront. In exchange for this flexibility, we have a 90-day cancellation notice policy, managed through Nolodex. During this period, your membership, chapter participation, and platform access remain active. Referral fee obligations continue to apply even after your membership ends.
Chapter Leadership
Can I start a Connective chapter in my city?
Yes! We are actively expanding Connective Local into new markets and seeking well-connected business leaders to launch new chapters. Unlike traditional networking groups where chapter presidents volunteer their time without compensation, Connective Chapter Heads get paid to build and lead their groups. We provide the full operational playbook, technology, and support.
